Anchalika Kijkanakorn

Founder and Managing Director AKARYN Hotel Group

A globetrotting financier turned Thai boutique hotel visionary, Anchalika Kijkanakorn has fulfilled the first part of her dream of building several intimate retreat concepts in her homeland. Anchalika’s gift for launching and developing companies and dynamic business acumen owes a debt to her international education – she holds a BA in Marketing from University of Texas and an MBA in International Business from the University of South Carolina – and diverse career. But her intuitive grasp of how to create hospitality experiences that stand apart cannot be learned. It comes straight from the heart.

She has held various leadership roles specialising in audit, consulting, mergers and acquisitions, and financial control, managing teams across Asia, Europe and the Unites States. The first 10 years of her career were spent with GE Capital and Honeywell.

Anchalika is a mother of two young children and speaks fluent Thai, English, conversational French and basic Cantonese. She currently serves as Chairman of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH). This makes Anchalika the first Asian and the first woman Chairman of SLH, which is a collection of over 570 independently-owned luxury hotels worldwide.

Mia Singson-Leon

Executive Director Human Capital AKARYN Hotel Group

Mia’s experience in the hospitality industry, training and recruiting the best talent has been key to the success of AKARYN Hotel Group. Having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Occupational Therapy in 1999, the Philippine-native began her career in the food and beverage industry before moving into Human Resources in 2005.

Mia is extremely well qualified having been certified in Training and Development by AHL&A in 2004 following which she was certified in HR Management by Cornell University, Ithaca in 2007.

Mia joined AKARYN Hotel Group in 2008 as Training Manager of Aleenta Phuket Resort and Spa and was quickly promoted to HR Manager and now holds the role of Executive Director of Human Capital – as she continues to achieve new heights in developing and training the talent of the future for AKARYN Hotel Group.

Mark Eletr

Group General Manager AKARYN Hotel Group

Mark brings a wealth of operational experience to AKARYN Hotel Group through his years in the hospitality industry. He began his career in food & beverage in Australia at North Queensland’s Green Island Resort on the Great Barrier Reef. A civil engineer by training who changed careers to follow his dream, Mark made up for lost time in the hotel industry, ascending from food & beverage manager of Banyan Tree’s Angsana Resort & Spa at Palm Cove to general manager of the five-star Lizard Island Resort and later the five-star Bedarra Island Resort, both also on the Great Barrier Reef.

Three years later he left Australia for Thailand and the post of general manager of the five-star Anantara Rasanda Koh Phangan Villa Resort & Spa, then moved to another GM’s position at the group’s Vietnam resort at Mui Ne, before being promoted to cluster general manager for Anantara in Abu Dhabi, overseeing three luxury resorts for the group on Sir Bani Yas Island.

Mark holds diplomas in civil engineering (Sydney Institute of Technology, 1995) and management (Queensland TAFE, 2014,), as well as having completed Cornell University online courses in planning for profits, creativity and leadership, and strategic hospitality management.

Thomas Dazard

Corporate Finance Manager AKARYN Hotel Group

Thomas Dazard joins AKARYN Hotel Group with a career that includes five years with Ernst & Young and a further three with French-headquartered global IT group Atos. At Ernst & Young, he worked on the account of a major listed group (Vivendi) for five years, led teams and conducted audit missions for 10 major companies ranging across manufacturing, real estate, IT, entertainment, media and retail, while also conducting due diligence on mergers and acquisitions.
Thomas has experience with consolidated financial audits (French & US, Gaap, IFRS) and special missions, such as internal control improvements and Sarbane-Oxley compliance. At Atos, a digital services group with revenues of around Euro 10 billion and some 86,000 employees ranging over 66 countries, he analysed and audited the group’s interests across Asia, US, Netherlands, UK, Spain and France, recommending improvements regarding purchasing, legal, human resources, finance and bidding. He is a due diligence expert whose timely and accurate assessments saw him tasked with reviewing Atos’ own contracts in its Euro 200 million Olympic Games deal.

Eugene Oelofse

Director of Brand Communications AKARYN Hotel Group

South African born and educated Eugene Oelofse joins the AKARYN Hotel Group team to take the lead in branding, communications and positioning of the AKARYN Hotel Groups  hotels and resorts. He brings over 12 years of expertise and hands-on experience, in the advertising branding and marketing sectors. Having represented and guided iconic brands within the hospitality sector and various other industries both in Africa and Internationally throughout his career, including the positioning for one of South Africa’s largest independent Hotel Groups.

Through his experience he has developed a deep understanding of brand value and is an advocate of new mediums and strategies both on-line and off-line within the marketing sector to drive the ever growing portfolio of AKARYN Hotel Group.

Pattana ‘Bik’ Waithayanon

Director of Sales AKARYN Hotel Group

Bik brings more than 15 years in sales and marketing in the hospitality industry to AKARYN Hotel Group. Her most recent position was prior to joining the team was as director of sales at the Swissotel Resort Phuket, following five years as assistant director of sales at Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort., where she was elevated to director of sales in 2013. Prior to joining Le Méridien, Bik spent nine years at the Amari Atrium Bangkok, beginning as an assistant sales manager in 2001 and leaving as the assistant director of sales (leisure).
Bik brings more than 15 years in sales and marketing in the hospitality industry to AKARYN Hotel Group. Naruedol ‘Doi’ Ruangsawad

Chief Accountant AKARYN Hotel Group

Doi joins AKARYN Hotel Group with 8 years at Ernst & Young (Thailand) under his belt, leading audit teams of up to eight assistants as Senior Audit Assistant with the firm’s Assurance and Advisory Business Services Department. During that time, he became adept at financial audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Audit Standards (GAAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Thai Accounting Standards (TAS), International Accounting Standards (IAS), International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) tax accounting and tax laws.

His duties at Ernst & Young encompassed analytical reviews of financial statements, reviews of accounting procedures to assess effectiveness of internal control systems and pinpointing weaknesses, annual report reviews, and preparation of projection reports to the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)as well as financial statements for both listed and non-listed companies. He oversaw audits of companies and brands including Cathay Pacific Airways, GMA (Subsidiary of GMM Grammy Plc), and Aeon Group.

Christophe Gestin

Resident Manager akyra Manor Hotel

Holding a masters degree in Hospitality and Catering Management, Christophe leads the opening team of akyra Manor Chiang Mai. He has over 10 years working experience within Thailand holding senior and executive positions in the food & Beverage industry, having represented some of the finest Brands within Thailand, the most recent as the Resident Manager of AKARYN Resort & Spa Koh Samui and Centara Grand Phuket. Before moving to Thailand Christophe developed his skills in France as well as Germany learning and developing his managerial style.

He has extensive expertise in Food & Beverage management, bar and restaurant renovations, wedding and events management and F&B promotional marketing as well as pre-openings of Resorts. He is fluent in French and English with a fair ability to communicate in both Spanish, German and Thai.

James Noble

Resident Manager Aleenta Hua Hin-Pranburi Resort and Spa

Englishman James Douglas Noble is a jovial fellow who forges close bonds with his guests and fiercely protects the privacy of Aleenta’s growing coterie of A list celebrities and assorted other movers and shakers.

“A classically trained chef with a modern outlook’’ and full of “passion and flair’’ is how he describes himself. He joined AHMS as Resident Manager of Aleenta Hua Hin but that hasn’t stopped him getting into the kitchen and getting creative whenever he can.

James has a consistent culinary background and excels in cuisine creativity (Mediterranean, French, Asian and International food); he has experience with a la carte, buffet, banquets, weddings, outside catering and exclusive and bespoke events from 10 to 3,000 guests. His credentials extend to HACCP certification and implementation. With a strong emphasis on leading from the front and team interactivity, James possess excellent leadership and staff development skills, kitchen management skills and financial budgetary control. He has experience with pre-opening hotels and welcomes the challenges that troubleshooting brings.

Matthias Jaeckel

Resident Manager Aleenta Phuket-Phang Nga Resort & Spa

Educated and trained in Germany, Matthias holds a Masters degree in hotel management. He acquired training through various roles throughout the United Kingdom and Asia.

Throughout his career, he has positioned himself as a leader in the hospitality world driving results through F&B and key marketing strategies.

He has led and succesfully managed large teams having held vitol positions at the Amari Watergate Bangkok, Centara Grand and Holiday Inn and various other prestigious establishments.

Matthias now leads the AKARYN Samui Resort and Spa, applying his knowledge and vast experience to further establish the Resort as an icon in Koh Samui.

Arunsak Phankham

Director of Sales Akaryn Hotel Group

Arunsak Phankham or Ton with over 8 years of experience within the hospitality industry takes over as the Director of Sales with special emphasis on the Aleenta Resorts within the AKARYN Hotel Group Portfolio.

Ton a graduate of Mahasarsakham University and Bangkok local started his career in Sales and found his niche in Hospitality, having represented some of the most well known brands in the industry such as Radisson, Amari and Golden Tulip. He has managed to make incremental differences in Revenue and always strived to achieve the maximum yield having built up strong relationship in the Wholesale and general Travel industries. Ton has also managed to become established in Thailand’s Corporate Markets and leads the Group in brokering Corporate Deals with all leading Businesses in Thailand.
